Frequently Asked Questions

1. Do I have to make an appointment for Pointe Shoes and Demi Pointe Shoes (Demis are sometimes called Soft Blocks)

Yes - We don't do walk ins. Please pre book via our online Calendly calendar, very easily via this link here.

You're very welcome to phone us if you prefer during our general shop hours, but the booking calendar is the most convenient way for you, as you can do it on line at any time of the day or night!

2. Do I have to make an appointment for anything else?

No - Please just "walk in" and turn up during our general shop hours - see them here.

We also keep all our general shop hours up to date if you search for us on Google maps.

3. Are Pointe / Demi Pointe fittings available during general shop hours?

No - Because of the in depth nature of the fitting and our small shop space, we fit these after our general shop hours, once the shop is closed to the public. Only our trained Pointe Shoe fitter fits these types of shoes at your appointment.

4. Do you fit Pointe / Demi Pointe Shoes on the days when you are closed?

Yes - For example on Saturday evenings. Also, during school holidays and at the beginning of new terms, we offer many additional pointe shoe fitting slots on the other days when we would normally be closed, when we quite often dedicate these days just to pre-booked Pointe / Demi Pointe fittings.

5. I've just checked your general shop hours and my Pointe / Demi Pointe Shoe fitting is booked for a time when it says you are closed, is this correct?

Yes - see question no 3 and 4.

6. On your general shop hours it states you are closed on Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday, is that correct ?

Yes - because we are otherwise engaged teaching dance lessons on those days. But quite often pre-booked Pointe / Demi Pointe fittings are available at certain times on these days - see question no 4.

7. I can't see availability to make a booking on your on line calendar, is this because you are full?

Yes and No - Availability can only show a few months ahead, so if you are booking further in advance than that, those dates may not have been released yet. If there are no bookings available on the date you wanted during the current month and the following one, then we are fully booked.

In the event of a Pointe Shoe emergency we will always do our best to try and accommodate you even if we are full, so phone us during general shop hours and we'll see what we can do: 01606 75770.

8. Do you get booked up in advance?

Yes - sometimes several weeks in advance, especially during busy times of the term.

9. How long does a Pointe / Demi Pointe Shoe fitting take?

When you book online it says your appointment is for an hour slot. For Pointe Shoes, if it is your first pair we explain lots of helpful extra things, so it will probably take around that amount of time. If this isn't your first pair it can quite often take less time. Demi Pointe shoes can be done in around 20 minutes.

10. Can I buy other things at my Pointe / Demi Pointe Shoe fitting?

Yes - of course you can. As long as we can get everything done in the allocated time before the next fitting arrives, you are more than welcome to purchase other items. This is very common, just let us know at the start of the fitting.

11. Can I contact you about general dancewear questions outside of your general shop hours?

Yes - you can via the general contact form on this website or by email or FB messenger. However you will get an automated message and someone will contact you back personally during general shop hours, on a day when the shop is next open.

We are always more than happy to help, so if we haven't asked your question above then please feel free to call us during our general shop hours on: 01606 75770 or fill in our contact form below.
